A house with a porch, Charlottesville, Va.

This home is designed as a prototype for the 1012 Druid Residences project. It experiments with the interconnection of open spaces, small serving spaces, and the use of wall openings to extend interior spaces outside. This home adds the side porch to serve many functions, including entry, outside living area, and as a shade from the glaring western sun. Many of the panelized constructional elements and other systems, used in the 1012 Druid project, are tried first in this home.
